What’s tested

Key topics on the CompTIA® Network+ exam.

The Cert Climb question bank is mapped to every domain on the official CompTIA® Network+ exam blueprint, so what you study is what the test asks.

Who it’s for

Built for the people taking this exam.

Junior network admins, NOC technicians, field engineers, and Security+ candidates who need a stronger networking base first.

Why it matters in 2026

The career signal.

Subnetting, routing, and OSI fluency are foundational. Network+ makes Security+, CISSP, and CCNA all noticeably easier — and it's vendor-neutral, so it transfers across employers.

Sample question

What a CompTIA® Network+ question looks like.

A wireless engineer is reviewing how the 802.11n specification achieves higher data rates than its predecessors. Which technology is primarily responsible for that throughput boost?

  • ACSMA/CD
  • BMIMOCorrect
  • CMIRO
  • DCSMA/CA

Why: Multiple Input, Multiple Output (MIMO) leverages several transmit and receive antennas at the same time, dramatically raising the data rate available to 802.11n radios. CSMA/CA is the media-access scheme used on Wi-Fi to keep stations from transmitting simultaneously, but it doesn't increase throughput. CSMA/CD is the equivalent collision-handling method on legacy wired Ethernet. MIRO is a made-up acronym and is not a real wireless technology.
